Oh God, help me against the one who wronged me and take my revenge from him

Injustice is one of the things that the Islamic religion forbids, and orders to stay away from, and this is because of the effect it has on the oppressed in his worldly life, and many hadiths and prophetic supplications came in the Prophetic Sunnah that help the oppressed against his wrongdoing, and accordingly, the Messenger of God – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – He supplicates with this supplication: “Oh God, give me pleasure in my hearing and my sight so that the inheritor will make them from me, and grant me health in my religion and my body, and help me against those who have wronged me, so that you may show me my revenge.”[1] Because it relieves the oppressed and comforts that he entrusts his affairs to God Almighty and calls him with supplications, we will mention them as follows:

  • (O God, to You I complain of my weakness, my lack of resourcefulness, and my humiliation over people, O Most Merciful of those who are merciful, You are the Lord of the weak, to whom you entrust me, to a distant one who frowns at me, or to an enemy whose command I possess, if you are not angry with me, I do not care, except that your health is broader for me, I seek refuge By the light of Your Face, for which darknesses have risen, and the affairs of this world and the hereafter are fixed, so that Your anger descends upon me, or Your anger descends upon me, I rebuke you until you are satisfied, and there is no might or power except through You.)
  • (Oh God, help me against the one who wronged me, oh God, help me against the one who wronged me, oh God, help me against the one who wronged me).
  • (Oh God, you do not accept the oppression of your servants, so do not reject my supplication, for I am wronged).
  • (Oh God, I am Your servants.
  • (Oh God, Nasser of the oppressed, answer our prayer and take those who wronged us, take the Mighty and Powerful).

Defining injustice in Islam

The meaning of injustice in the language came from: His oppression oppresses him unjustly, unjustly and unjustly, so we say that injustice is the real source, and injustice in language is putting something in its place, and injustice came in the legal terminology.By placing the thing in a place other than its designated place, and it came with the meaning: to exceed Truth to falsehood, so that it reaches the limits and exceeds it, and this is what forbade the Islamic religion, for God Almighty has clarified in his dear book the consequence of injustice, as he said in the most precise verses: Those who destroy the towns, but their people are unjust.}[2] [3]

How is the injustice in oneself?

There are many forms and forms of oppression in Islam, such that it begins with a person’s oppression of himself, which needs to be taken into account and not to go into his wrongdoing to himself, as this is a person’s wronging of himself by committing sins, as the Almighty said: {And when Moses said to his people, O people, you are wronged by your people. when you took the calf, so repent to your Creator},
[4] Including what amounts to a person killing himself and asking forgiveness from God, as stated in the Almighty’s saying: {Lord, I have wronged myself, so forgive me}.
[5] Including what Adam, peace be upon him, said: {Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers}.
[6] And for it, the injustice of the soul is included in the servant’s falling into disobedience and sins and exposing himself to being far from winning Paradise, the Almighty said: {And those who, when they commit an indecency or wrong themselves, do wrong.}
[7] Interview with Subhanah Utha’ali: {[8] If a servant wrongs himself and then asks God’s forgiveness and repents, he finds God Almighty has forgiven him.
[9]

How is it unfair to animals?

The forms of injustice may transcend the human being and his injustice to himself and others. Up to the injustice of the animal, which is either by imprisoning it or killing it or preventing it from food and drink, and this is something that Islamic law forbids because of the injustice and infringement on the rights of animals; Who made God Almighty has complete freedom in the life of the world, and between the Messenger of Allah in the Sunnah of many conversations that show kindness where he said the animal: “God wrote the charity on everything, if you kill, kill well, and if you slaughter, slaughter well and limit any one blade let him revive his sacrifice.”[10] Including what he said about those who subject animals to abuse and injustice, if the fire of Hell will punish him, as he said in his saying: “A woman was tormented because of a cat, she did not feed it, did not give it water, and did not leave it to be treacherous.”[11] For this reason, the Muslim slave should not oppress the animal or abuse it, but rather preserve and be kind to it in order to obtain the grace and reward.

The legal evidence in which injustice was reported from the Qur’an and Sunnah

Many verses and hadiths have been mentioned in the Holy Book of God and the purified Sunnah of the Prophet, which clarified the consequences of injustice, and that it is one of the things that the Islamic religion forbids; Including the following:

  • The Almighty said: {Indeed, those who disbelieve and do wrong, neither will God forgive them nor guide them to the way}.[12]
  • Almighty: Did Aothm news of those before them, the people of Noah returned and Thamud and the people of Abraham and the owners owe those before finding the Messengers with clear proofs of God, what was wrong them, but they wronged themselves} he said.[13]
  • Almighty: I have we spoiled the centuries before you when they wronged, said their messengers came to them with clear proofs and what they believe, as well as to the people of criminals} We recompense. [14]
  • قال تعالى: {.ن. اللَّهَ ل .ا يَظْلِمُ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا وَلَكِنَّ النَّاسَ ْنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ}.[15]
  • And what was reported on the authority of Jaber bin Abdullah on the authority of the Prophet – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – he said: “Beware of injustice, for injustice will be darkness on the Day of Resurrection, and beware of scarcity, for scarcity is the most astray of those before you that made them shed their blood and make them lawful.”[16]
  • And it came in the hadith of the Messenger of God, where he said: “Fear injustice as much as you can; The servant will come with good deeds on the Day of Resurrection, and he will see that they will save him, so a slave continues to stand up saying: O Lord, your servant has wronged me in injustice, so he says: Erase from his good deeds, and he continues to do so, until what remains for him of sins.[17]

The supplication of the oppressed on the oppressor is quick to answer

Meaning of a prayer: Oh God, help me against those who wronged me, and take my revenge from him

The Messenger of God – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – has made it clear that supplication is one of the acts of worship that a person will be rewarded for in this world and the hereafter, and for this he mentioned to us certain supplications that are said at specific times and for certain people, including what was mentioned in the hadith of Abu Huraira, may God be pleased with him, where he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to supplicate and say: “Oh God, take care of my hearing and my sight,” meaning to take pleasure in the blessing, which is to benefit him with his hearing and his sight, so that they remain in permanent health. At the moment of death, “and help me against those who oppress me”, that is: strengthen me against the one who seeks and transgresses me, “take from him”, that is: from the one who oppresses me, “by my revenge”, that is: for my right and my grievance, and revenge in the language is asking for the blood of the dead, so the supplication is comprehensive. To support the oppressed by entrusting God Almighty to take revenge on those who wronged him in this world and the hereafter.[18]

The effect of injustice on the oppressor

Injustice must have consequences for the oppressor in his life in this world and in the hereafter. Injustice is something that is not permissible in Islamic law, and it is worth keeping a Muslim slave away from, because it has consequences and effects, including not being successful in his life in this world or in the Hereafter. He loses the love of people in the world; In addition to the dimension about what caused the damage due to the oppressed, and of them are also losing the love of God Glorified and Exalted and expulsion from His mercy, God forbid, where he says: Do they not travel through the earth and see what was the end of those before them were most of them power and raised the land and Amrha more than they had lived, and their messengers came to them with clear proofs, so God would not do them wrong, but they were wrong.}[19]

Impact of injustice on society

Injustice also affects the oppressed and the unjust, it must affect the society as a whole. Injustice leads after the oppressed to be oppressed to cause enmity and hatred among the members of society, and therefore it may result in many problems that harm society, such as the spread of murder, revenge, theft and beatings. And exposure to money, honor, and self, and that is why it is necessary for the Muslim community to stop all forms of injustice and its forms so that the matter does not go beyond the consequences that it does not hope for.

Our duty is to support the oppressed

God Almighty has made intimacy and love between Muslims, and this is after performing some acts of worship in congregation; This is something that will develop ties and friendship among them, and it may be appropriate for Muslims to follow the Sunnah of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, by keeping away from oppression among the servants, and supporting the oppressed if he is wronged. To reach a solution with the oppressor who continues to oppress him, the Messenger of God said in the honorable hadith: “The believer to the believer is like a building whose parts strengthen each other.”[20]

Consequences of injustice in this world and the hereafter

The injustice that God Almighty and His Noble Messenger prohibited because of the consequences that it causes to the unjust in this world and the hereafter, as the consequences of injustice in this world and the hereafter are as follows:

  • Injustice leads to the loss of the love of God Almighty in this world and the hereafter.

  • Oh God, defeat me an enemy who wronged me and wanted me bad.
  • O Lord, you know best who has wronged me and that there is no might or power except with you. I resort to you and delegate my command to you, so take my right from those who have wronged me.
