Thursday marks the 51st National Day of the Sultanate of Oman, at a time when the historical fraternity and strategic partnership between the two countries are strengthening and getting stronger.

Oman celebrates its National Day on November 18, which coincides with the birthday of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, due to the renaissance and development that the country witnessed during his reign in various fields, while the celebration began 51 years ago with Sultan Qaboos taking power in 1970.

After assuming power, Qaboos announced the start of the procession of the renaissance of the Sultanate of Oman, and as a result, the stage of building the modern state began.

After assuming the reins of power on January 11, 2020, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq constantly directed November 18 as a national day for the renaissance that the Sultanate celebrates every year, in a kind gesture that expresses the most sincere attitudes of loyalty, honesty and the noblest feelings towards the late Sultan.

Just as the bilateral relations between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman witnessed a remarkable development in all fields during the reign of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the momentum in brotherly relations and cooperation between the two countries continued, and its pace increased with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said assuming the reins of power, two years ago.

The celebration of the Omani National Day by the leadership and people of the Emirates embodies the depth of the historical brotherly relations between the two countries and the common destiny that unites them.

The UAE and the Sultanate of Oman are participating in the celebrations of its 51st National Day, in confirmation of the strength of the well-established brotherly relations between the two countries, which during the past decades have witnessed rapid growth under the wise leadership of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the Emirates, and Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq, to ​​reach the level of Strategic partnership in all political, economic, social and cultural fields.

The celebration comes under the slogan “Oman is from us, and we are from them”, as the UAE is witnessing a series of special events and performances to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the blessed renaissance of the Sultanate of Oman.

The events include lighting a number of the most prominent urban landmarks with the Omani flag, receiving Omani visitors coming to the UAE through border crossings and airports with flowers and souvenirs, allocating a special stamp for their passports inspired by the occasion, as well as organizing special events to celebrate the occasion at Expo 2020 Dubai, the Global Village and shopping centers. commercial.

The national occasions in the two countries turn into a joint celebration that embodies the bonds of brotherhood, love, the common destiny that unites the two countries, and the fraternal relations and historical ties that are becoming closer and increasing cohesion and strength year after year.

And this year’s anniversary of the Sultanate’s National Day comes at a time when bilateral cooperation between the two countries is increasing at various levels.

A few days ago, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE, held talks to enhance cooperation with Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, in the latest series of visits and mutual discussions between the two sides to support relations, coordinate efforts and increase cooperation between them.
Relationships of affection, brotherhood and love were also evident in the Sultanate’s happiness with the UAE’s achievements, and the expression of pride in them.

A meeting that comes several months after a visit by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Muscat last February 14, during which he held talks with Al Busaidi on the brotherly and historical relations between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman and ways to enhance the paths of joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries in all fields.

On the economic front, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, headed an Emirati delegation on a visit to the Sultanate of Oman last October 18, with the participation of a number of government agencies and private sector companies.

During the visit, he met Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousuf, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in the Sultanate, and a number of officials in the relevant sectors.

This visit comes within the fraternal and strategic relations with the Sultanate of Oman, and to explore opportunities for joint cooperation between the two countries, and to expand partnership horizons at all governmental and private levels, especially in the sectors of industry, advanced technology, quality infrastructure and others.

In the field of military cooperation, Lieutenant-General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, visited the Sultanate on August 16, during which he held talks to enhance military cooperation and ways to enhance it to serve the security and stability of the region with a number of senior officials, including Shihab bin Tariq. The UAE will host the twenty-eighth session of the “COP 28” Conference in 2023, which is the most important and largest international conference on climate action with the participation of world leaders and leaders.

The Sultan of Oman had previously congratulated the UAE on the successful arrival of the “Probe of Hope” to the planet Mars, describing it as a great achievement for the UAE, the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arabs in general.

Last June, the Sultanate of Oman congratulated the United Arab Emirates on its election to the UN Security Council for the period “2022-2023”.

Under the wise leadership of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq, the fraternal bilateral relations between the two countries became more cohesive and solid.

The volume of UAE exports to the Sultanate of Oman recorded a growth of 18.1 percent during the first half of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020, as the value of exports increased from 6.79 billion dirhams to 8.02 billion dirhams. In contrast, Omani direct investments in The UAE grew by 46.8 percent at the beginning of 2020 compared to the beginning of 2019.
